Careers

Do the best work of your career. Repeatedly.

We hire people who find 'never demo anything that isn't deployed' obvious rather than radical. In exchange: senior teammates, real problems, profit sharing, and a culture that says the uncomfortable thing early — including to management.

Life at maykaTech

A place engineered for people who ship

The median engineer here has nine years of experience, which changes everything about how the place feels: code review is a conversation between peers, estimates are debated on evidence, and nobody has to win an argument by title. Pods are small — four to nine people — and own their products end to end, client relationship included.

We protect the conditions that make good work possible: no-meeting Wednesdays, clustered standups, on-call rotations that are staffed honestly and paid extra, and a rule that nobody ships alone on a Friday. Burnout isn't a badge here. Shipping is.

Benefits

The package, plainly stated

Compensation bands are shared in the first interview, not the last — the same transparency we give clients.

Real remote, real flexibility

Work from any of our four offices or from home. We measure output, not badge swipes — and meetings are clustered so deep work survives.

Learning budget that gets used

$3,500 a year for courses, conferences, and certifications, plus study time for cloud certs on the clock. Last year 81% of the team spent theirs.

Health coverage that covers

Full medical, dental, and vision for you and dependents, mental health support, and a wellness stipend that doesn't require a receipt audit.

Equity in the outcome

Profit-sharing for every role after year one — when client work goes well, everyone who built it shares the result.

Six-week sabbaticals

Every four years, six paid weeks to do anything that isn't work. People return with photographs, side projects, and perspective.

Engineering culture with taste

Code review as mentorship, blameless postmortems, no-meeting Wednesdays, and a standing rule: nobody ships alone on a Friday.

How we work

The culture, as practiced

Values that survive contact with deadlines — because we enforce them when it's inconvenient.

Say the uncomfortable thing early

The estimate that's too optimistic, the scope that's too big, the approach that isn't working — we surface it when it's cheap to fix, not when it's a crisis. Clients keep us around for this more than anything.

Craft is a habit, not a heroic act

Quality lives in defaults: typed code, tested paths, reviewed changes, documented decisions. We don't rely on heroes because heroes burn out and take the knowledge with them.

The user in the room

Every design debate ends the same way — go watch someone use it. Observed behavior outranks the loudest opinion, including ours.

Leave it better documented

We work on systems that outlive engagements, teams, and sometimes companies. Writing things down is how we respect the person who inherits our work — often our future selves.

Senior Full-Stack Engineer

EngineeringSan Francisco / Austin / Remote (US)Full-time · 5+ years
Engineering

Own features end-to-end on client product pods — TypeScript across the stack, real users, and codebases you'll be proud to hand over.

What you'll do

  • Design and ship features across Next.js frontends and Node/Python backends
  • Lead technical decisions within your pod and document them as ADRs
  • Pair with client engineers and mentor mid-level teammates
  • Own quality: tests, observability, and performance budgets are part of done

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years building production web applications, 2+ with TypeScript
  • Depth in at least one backend stack (Node, Python, or Go) plus solid SQL
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) beyond deployment tutorials
  • Clear written communication — clients read your ADRs and PR descriptions

Staff Cloud Architect

Cloud & PlatformLondon / Remote (EU)Full-time · 8+ years
Cloud & Platform

Lead cloud migrations and platform builds for enterprise clients — the architecture calls, the cost models, and the rooms where they're defended.

What you'll do

  • Design landing zones, migration waves, and cloud-native architectures for enterprise workloads
  • Own TCO models and present trade-offs to client executives
  • Set infrastructure-as-code standards across engagement teams
  • Lead our internal cloud practice guild and certification pipeline

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years in infrastructure roles, 4+ architecting on AWS or Azure at scale
  • Professional-level cloud certification (or the experience that makes one redundant)
  • Production Kubernetes and Terraform depth — not just familiarity
  • Comfort presenting architecture decisions to CFOs as well as CTOs

Senior Product Designer

DesignSan Francisco / Remote (US)Full-time · 5+ years
Design

Research-driven design for complex enterprise products — dashboards, clinical tools, and workflows where your decisions save real people real hours.

What you'll do

  • Run user research: interviews, field studies, and moderated usability sessions
  • Design data-dense enterprise interfaces from flows to polished components
  • Build and govern design systems synchronized between Figma and code
  • Work embedded with engineers — your specs ship, so you'll defend them in build

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years in product design with a portfolio heavy on complex B2B or enterprise UI
  • Demonstrated research practice, not just research enthusiasm
  • Design system experience: tokens, components, and the governance that keeps them coherent
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) applied in real projects

Machine Learning Engineer

AI & DataBengaluru / Remote (India)Full-time · 4+ years
AI & Data

Build LLM applications and predictive systems that survive production — evaluation harnesses, serving infrastructure, and honest accuracy reporting.

What you'll do

  • Build RAG systems, agents, and predictive models against client data
  • Design evaluation suites and golden datasets before scaling any AI feature
  • Own serving infrastructure: latency budgets, cost controls, drift monitoring
  • Communicate model behavior and limitations honestly to non-technical stakeholders

What you'll bring

  • 4+ years in ML or data engineering with production deployments you can describe in detail
  • Strong Python plus experience with modern LLM tooling and at least one deep-learning framework
  • SQL fluency and comfort building data pipelines, not just consuming clean datasets
  • A portfolio of shipped systems — notebooks alone won't carry the interview

Senior DevOps Engineer

Cloud & PlatformAustin / Remote (US)Full-time · 4+ years
Cloud & Platform

Turn client delivery pipelines from quarterly ceremonies into daily non-events — CI/CD, observability, and platform engineering across engagements.

What you'll do

  • Build CI/CD pipelines, ephemeral environments, and golden-path deployment templates
  • Implement observability stacks and tune alerting against fatigue
  • Coach client engineering teams through DORA-metric improvement programs
  • Participate in a humane, well-compensated on-call rotation for managed clients

What you'll bring

  • 4+ years in DevOps/SRE roles with Kubernetes and Terraform in production
  • Deep experience with at least one major CI platform and one observability stack
  • Scripting fluency (Bash, Python, or Go) and the instinct to automate toil on sight
  • War stories about incidents — and the postmortem discipline that followed them
